Argyronetidae Thorell, 1869

Family | ACCEPTED

N.B.: the family is separated from the Dictynidae and re-definded by Montana et al., 2025: 9 to include 12 genera, Argyroneta probably represents an own subfamily; Argyronetidae were seperated before (Ono, 2009a: 169, Murphy & Roberts, 2015: viii, with the single genus Argyroneta), but this was not accepted.

N.B.: transferred from the Agelenidae to the Dictynidae by Lehtinen, 1967: 249 (sub Tricholathysinae; for Roth, 1967a a cryphoecine agelenid) and to the Argyronetidae by Montana et al., 2025: 43; considered a senior synonym of Desidiopsis Fage, 1909: 75 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05508] (type D. racovitzai Fage, 1909, transferred from the Agelenidae, by Roth, 1967a: 2) and of Halocryphoeca Caporiacco, 1934c: 124 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05509] (type H. veneta Caporiacco, 1934 = Mizaga racovitzai (Fage, 1909), transferred from the Agelenidae) by Lehtinen, 1967: 237.
