N.B.: see Lehtinen, 1967, Homann, 1968, Forster, 1970b: 111 and Wheeler et al., 2017: 606 for differing views on the limits of this family; transfer of Hapona and Laestrygones from Desidae (Murphy & Roberts, 2015: viii) not sufficiently justified and is not accepted here; Orepukia transferred from Agelenidae, Pakeha and Paravoca transferred from Amaurobiidae to Cycloctenidae by Wheeler et al., 2017: 606; the family is not monophyletic per Kulkarni, Wood & Hormiga, 2023: 515, f. 15-16.
