N.B.: elevated from subfamily of Amaurobiidae by Gorneau et al., 2023: 10, but with the authorpship of Petrunkevitch, 1928: 44, 114, who used Myropsininae (Myropsis is preoccupied); Bonnet, 1957: 2689 corrected to Macrobuninae (see Lin et al., 2024: 19); included genera listed by Wheeler et al., 2017: 605 (sub Macrobuninae, see also Gorneau et al., 2023: 10 and Lin et al., 2024: 19).

N.B.: possibly related to the Dictynidae, Argyronetidae and/or Cybaeidae (Ramírez, 1996a: 2); transferred from the Amaurobiidae to the Macrobunidae by Gorneau et al., 2023: 10; considered a senior synonym of Opsaltella Mello-Leitão, 1941d: 114 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:04919] (type O. diffusa Mello-Leitão, 1941) by Ramírez, 1996a: 2 (contra Lehtinen, 1967: 254, who transferred it from the Dictynidae and synonymized it with Macrobunus Tullgren, 1901).
