N.B.: type species fixed by Thorell, 1870b: 146; considered a senior synonym of Micariosoma Simon, 1878a: 271 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05975] (type Macaria festiva C. L. Koch, 1835, fixed by Simon, 1897a: 151) by Simon, 1903a: 1035 (after F. O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1902d: 13, contra Simon, 1897a: 151, who chose the younger name as valid); transferred from the Liocranidae to the Corinnidae by Bosselaers & Jocqué, 2002: 265 and to the Phrurolithidae by Ramírez, 2014: 343; none of the New World species currently placed in Phrurolithus actually belong to that genus (Platnick, 2019: 4).
