N.B.: replacement name for Bassania O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1898a: 249 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05328], preoccupied in Lepidoptera by Walker, 1860; Eremita Kishida, 1913h: 38 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05329] (type E. typica Kishida, 1913 = Bassaniana decorata (Karsch, 1879)) is not available, it is preoccupied in Crustacea by Osbeck, 1765 (see ICZN, 1990b: 67) (cf. Ono & Ogata, 2018: 653); considered a senior synonym of Platyxysticus Gertsch, 1932: 1 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05903] (type Coriarachne versicolor Keyserling, 1880) by Ono, 1988c: 73 (removed from S of Coriarachne Thorell, 1869, contra Gertsch, 1939b: 404); the synonymy of Bassaniana with Coriarachne (Bowling & Sauer, 1975: 184, after Gertsch, 1953: 456) has not been accepted by later workers (but see Lehtinen, 2002: 321).
