Sitticus is redefined by Prószyński, 2017: 41; the genera Attulus, Jollas, Sittiab, Sittiflor (syn. of Calositticus), Sittilong and Sittipub (syn. of Hypositticus) belong to the genera group Sitticus s. l.; South American groups of the species Sitticus leucoproctus (S. cellulanus, S. flabellatus, S. leucoproctus) and Sitticus palpalis (S. canus, S. mazorcanus, S. palpalis, S. phaleratus, S. tenebricus, S. uber, S. vanvolsemorum) are left temporarily within the genus Sitticus pending further research; the re-synonymizations of Attulus, Calositticus (= Sittiflor), Hypositticus, Sittiab and Sittisax, proposed by Breitling, 2019b: 31, are not accepted here as they are based mainly on COI (see FAQ 7).
