N.B.: considered a senior synonym of Nictyphantes Joseph, 1882: 18 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:04654] (type N. microphthalmus Joseph, 1882) by Simon, 1894a: 706 and of Stygohyphantes Kratochvíl, 1948: 7 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05407] (type Taranucnus giromettai Kulczyński, 1914) by Deeleman-Reinhold, 1978b: 23 (who treated the name as a subgenus and designated a type species for Stygohyphantes); the elevations of the subgenera Stygohyphantes and Troglodytia Deeleman-Reinhold, 1978b: 22 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05408] (type Taranucnus troglodytes Kulczyński, 1914) to generic status suggested by Saaristo & Tanasevitch, 1996b: 175 were not accompanied by diagnoses or justifications, and are therefore not followed here.
