Corinnidae Karsch, 1880

Family |   ACCEPTED
N.B.: considered valid by Wunderlich, 1986: 28, so genera listed by Brignoli, 1983c under Castianeirinae and Corinninae (Clubionidae) are treated here; Wunderlich used the name Myrmeciidae, which is already in use for ants (see Reiskind, 1983); Reiskind proposed that the International Commission validate the spelling Myrmeciuminae, but as there are already names available and in common use for both Corinninae and Castianeirinae it is easier to simply suppress Myrmeciinae C. L. Koch, 1850; the family is not monophyletic per Kulkarni, Wood & Hormiga, 2023: 522, f. 20.

N.B.: see the synonymy note at Sphecotypus O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1895; Myrmecisca Thorell, 1897 has to become the valid name for the genus Peng.
