N.B.: ranked as a family by Forster & Wilton, 1973: 128, contra Lehtinen, 1967: 331, who placed the group as a subfamily of Amaurobiidae; see notes under Bakala and Manjala (Desidae); Neolanidae Forster & Wilton, 1973 considered a junior synonym of Amphinectidae by JocquƩ & Dippenaar-Schoeman, 2006: 66; transfer of Holomamoea and Huara to Cicurinidae (Murphy & Roberts, 2015: viii) as well as transfer of the former Neolanidae to the Amaurobiidae (Murphy & Roberts, 2015: ix) not sufficiently justified and is not accepted here; the former Neolanidae transferred from the Amphinectidae to the Stiphididiae by Wheeler et al., 2017: 608 and six genera (Baiami, Barahna, Cambridgea, Corasoides, Ischalea, Nanocambridgea) transferred from the Stiphididiae to the Desidae by Wheeler et al., 2017: 606; included genera listed by Gorneau et al., 2023: 11; the family is not monophyletic per Kulkarni, Wood & Hormiga, 2023: 515, f. 15-16.
