The family Brucharachnidae Mello-Leitão, 1925 (Mello-Leitão, 1925c: 234), with its single genus and species (Brucharachne ecitophilus Mello-Leitão, 1925 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidersp:051362]) was provisionally placed within Oonopidae by Brignoli, 1980j: 731, transferred to Acari, Mesostigmata, Dermanyssoidea, family Laelapidae, and the genus Brucharachne Mello-Leitão, 1925 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:04556] was synonymized with Sphaeroseius Berlese, 1904 by Krantz & Platnick, 1995: 3.
