N.B.: an updated diagnosis is provided by Burgo et al., 2025: 12; the genus Cybaeolus Simon, 1884 was transferred from the Agelenidae (Cybaeinae) to the Hahniidae (Cybaeolinae Lehtinen, 1967) by Lehtinen, 1967: 226 and the Cybaeolinae are considered a junior synonym of Hahniidae by Burgo et al., 2025: 13; the genera of Cryphoecinae Lehtinen, 1967 (authorship correctly Simon, 1898a: 250, sub Cryphoeceae; also Cryphoecini Kishida, 1955: 6 is older) were transferred from the Agelenidae to the Hahniidae by Lehtinen, 1967, considered a subfamily of Dictynidae by Wunderlich, 2004j: 1385 and lately transferred to Cybaeidae by Wheeler et al., 2017: 606; transfers of Cicurina Menge, 1871 and related genera (Cicurininae sensu Lehtinen, 1967) from the Agelenidae to the Dictynidae (Lehtinen, 1967) have been accepted by Cokendolpher, 2004a: 28; Cicurina, as well as Chorizomma Simon, 1872 and Mastigusa Menge, 1854 (which are not explicitely listed by Wheeler et al., 2017) are transferred from the Dictynidae to the Hahniidae by Wheeler et al., 2017: 607; Mastigusa is transferred to the Cybaeidae by Castellucci et al., 2023: 6; the transfers of Chorizomma, Cicurina and Mastigusa to the Cicurinidae by Murphy & Roberts, 2015: viii were not sufficiently justified and are not accepted here; Ono & Ogata, 2018: 619 mention the authorship of these subfamilial taxa: Cicurininae Kishida, 1955: 4, Tetrilini Kishida, 1955: 5 and Chorizommatini Kishida, 1955: 6; but the oldest found mention of Cicurininae is by F. O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1893: 158 (sub Cicurinae, see also Bonnet, 1956: 1091); Cicurinidae new circumscribed (Bromella, Cicurina and Chorizomma) and elevated to family by Gorneau et al., 2023: 11.
