Dysderidae C. L. Koch, 1837

Family |   ACCEPTED
N.B.: the subfamily Segestriinae was raised to family level by Brignoli, 1976g: 30; Cooke, 1965: 1028 (not mentioning the Segestriinae) divided the Dysderidae into four tribes (Dysderini, Harpacteini Cooke, 1965 [as Harpactini], Orsolobini Cooke, 1965 and Rhodini Simon, 1893a: 312 [as Rhodeae]); Orsolobidae was elevated to family level and relimited by Forster & Platnick, 1985: 6; Deeleman-Reinhold & Deeleman, 1988: 148 raised Cooke's remaining tribes to the subfamilies Dysderinae, Harpacteinae and Rhodinae; the Harpacteinae include the former tribe Holisseae Simon, 1893a: 314 [which would be the older name]; the monophyly of Dysderinae and Rhodinae is confirmed, but the Harpacteinae are considered paraphyletic by Adrián-Serrano, Pavlek & Arnedo, 2024: 592.
