N.B.: elevated to family level and relimited by Kuntner, 2006: 24, both actions regarded as dubious by Dimitrov & Hormiga, 2009: 21 (see also Álvarez-Padilla et al., 2009), re-synonymized with Araneidae by Dimitrov et al., 2017: 244 (already assumed by Murphy & Roberts, 2015: ix), elevated to family again by Kuntner et al., 2019: 563 (confirmed by Kuntner et al., 2023: 970 and Eskov & Marusik, 2024: 52), downgraded to subfamily by Scharff et al., 2020, Kallal et al., 2020 and Hormiga et al., 2023: 803 (the status as subfamily of Araneidae was  accepted by majority vote of the WSC boards); family status revalidated by Kuntner et al., 2025: 23 (but not accepted here for reasons of stability).
