N.B.: described as tribe Heptatheleae, elevated to family rank by Petrunkevitch, 1939a: 149, status confirmed by Haupt, 1983: 289, synonymized with Liphistiidae by Raven, 1985a: 16; revalidated by Li, 2022: 72 (Heptathelidae include all former liphistiid genera, with exception of Liphistius) and confirmed by Kulkarni, Wood & Hormiga, 2023: 485, f. 5; the reunion of both families by Breitling, 2022a: 3 was not accepted here (he omitted younger splittings of other families and the age was not accepted as sufficient reason), but the reunion by Sivayyapram et al., 2024b: 254 is accepted (by majority vote of the WSC boards).
